On March 27, 2021, in the premises of the IBAM, was held the first edition "Women's Day". An event organized by the Natural English Club of IBAM (NECI) in collaboration with Afritechka, and sponsored by the CEO of Afro House of Knowledge.
The topic of this very first edition of “The Women’s Day” was : Female Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
The day was marked by a conference followed by the performances of the Natural English club IBAM (NECI).
We were fortunate to have as speakers, two ambitious and enterprising young women, whose sense of leadership and commitment to a more equitable community are well established.
It was :
Amélia BAZI, Entrepreneurship Project Manager at Autre Terre and CEO at FARAFIN, and Rebecca Roxane LANKOANDA, CEO at PRINCESA and founder of the SUPLAMAR association.
After the opening speech, given by Mr. Ismaël ZERBO, founder of Afro House of Knowledge, current pressident of Afritechka, the participants did not fail to express their gratitude to women for their multiple contributions and sacrifices for sustainable socio-economic development and the maintenance of peace in the communities.
The "Women's Day" was also an opportunity for Amélia and Roxane to reframe the participants on the origins and the purpose of "International Women's Rights Day" celebrated every March 8.
They also enthusiastically shared with the audience their experience as entrepreneurs and encouraged young women to embark on entrepreneurship.
Besides, the fruitful discussions about female leadership and entrepreneurship, it was also the moment for the English club to demonstrate their know-how in the handling of the language of Shakespeare.
Interpretation of American songs, traditional dances, theatrical play, games and public speaking contests etc… constitute the content of the menu served by NECI to entertain and make the audience laugh. The participants did not fail to congratulate and encourage the club's management team led by Mr. Auguste KABORE.
We dare to believe that this framework for sharing experiences led by young women entrepreneurs has had a positive impact on these young women present in the audience and has mentally reinforced them.
The next edition is scheduled for mid-March 2022.
